Olive Tree Inc. has opened pre-orders for the men’s varsity jacket from its label THE URAh. Pre-orders close on 28 September 2026; the official launch is 10 October, with shipping from late November.

The label takes its name from uramasari, an Edo-period sensibility in which value was placed on the inside of a garment rather than displayed on its surface. The exterior is plain black, without a logo. The lining is a jacquard woven in Kyoto, in a choice of four colours.

Each jacket passes through four regions of Japan: melton wool from Bishu, kurozan leather from Himeji for the sleeves, jacquard lining and woven labels from Kyoto, and tailoring in Hanyu. According to its maker, Sakamoto Shoten, this is the first time kurozan leather has been used across the sleeves of a garment sold to the public.

Season 1 is limited to one hundred pieces worldwide, sold only through the official online store. The price is USD 2,400 (JPY 298,000 incl. tax). The principal markets are the United States and Japan.
For a wellness company, the move into apparel follows from a single idea — The Body as an Asset — extended to the product that sits closest to the body.
