Wellness Facility Development

From the first plan to the day-to-day. Hypoxic rooms included.

We help plan, build and run fitness gyms, Pilates studios and wellness facilities in hotels and offices. The work draws on our own experience founding and operating SOLERA, a hypoxic training studio, the Pilates studios BLACK CAT and WHY NOT, and ITOHA YOGA SALON in Kyoto. Our involvement is shaped to what you need: advisory only, support through to opening, or full operation afterwards.

When to talk to us

  • You want to open a gym or studio and do not know where to begin
  • You want a hypoxic room in an existing facility
  • You have vacant space in a hotel, retail building or office for a wellness business
  • An existing studio needs its marketing or operation rebuilt
  • You want to hand the operation of a facility to someone else

What we do

A group class at BLACK CAT: participants lying back over spine correctors with legs raised.
  • Concept and business plan: target, format, pricing, scale of investment
  • Site evaluation, layout and design supervision: flow, changing, ventilation, equipment
  • Hypoxic room installation: equipment selection, installation, safety, programming
  • Equipment selection and procurement: Pilates machines, training and measurement equipment
  • Programme and price design
  • Recruitment, training and supply of instructors
  • Web, LINE and social-media acquisition
  • Post-opening support, or full operation

On hypoxic training

Two people walking on treadmills at SOLERA, with the simulated altitude shown on a wall monitor.

SOLERA opened in Kyoto in 2022 as a normobaric hypoxic studio simulating an altitude of about 3,000 metres. Four years of running it ourselves, from equipment and safety to programming and member acquisition, go directly into our installation support. Facilities can also operate as “powered by SOLERA”, using our brand and acquisition.

How we work with you

  • Advisory: guidance on plans, design and equipment
  • Launch support: from concept to opening, including six months afterwards
  • Operation: we run the facility on your behalf
  • Brand licence: powered by SOLERA, or a WHY NOT franchise

The first consultation is free. We propose fees once we understand the scale and the role you want us to play.
